Beach Ed Trip

Here is a photo of me saving someone.

For the beach ed trip we went to Waihi beach.
The life guards taught us about how to get out of a rip,
how to tie an injured person to a board if they hurt themselves.
We also learnt why they have a knife in the IRB.
Another thing we learnt was what IRB stands for,
IRB stands for inflatable rescue boat we also learnt a lot
more things.

One of the lifeguards called Nick took us around the Surf Club.
Nick showed us the garage which had the motor bike and the side by side ATV and some other things.
We visited the medical room where we learnt how to tie someone
to the rescue board.
We went to the top of the tower to look over the beach.

We did three activities on the beach.
The first one was seaweed and the other one was a game where
you had to lie down and then run and get a thin pipe.
The last activity was a rescue relay with a rescue tube and you
had to rescue the other person on the other side.

In the water we had to run with our legs up around the parents, the next time we had to dive and we also did a lot more things in the water. Afterwards we got free time in the water.

After that we had to get changed because we had to go back to school, we got back at school at 3.00.

3 thing I learnt was how to escape a rip, how to tie someone in a rescue board and the last one was what a IRB stands for.

I enjoy my day at the beach.
